List of procedures

Synchronization of files

Synchronization of files from two directories, possibly on a remote machine.

  • rsync takes as arguments "the list of files to be synchronized" and "the destination directory".
  • the -r flag makes it recursive

Example :

rsync -r tempo/* /Data/L2

All the files in directory /Data/L2 will be overwritten by any newer file in the other directory ./tempo/, that is any with the same name amongst ./tempo/*.
